What Causes Hidden Pimples?
Blind zits occur when your skin’s pores (tiny holes on your skin) clog. Experts call them hair follicles. Factors that block them include dead skin cells, hair, bacteria, and sebum (the oil that your skin produces to maintain the skin’s moisture). When the body produces excess sebum or if you don’t maintain proper skin hygiene, the oil accumulates under your skin and forms pus. It gets stuck and fails to get to the skin’s surface. As a result, it stays in the body and forms a pimple causing pain and inflammation. However, one cannot always blame poor skin hygiene for such pimples. Some other factors include the following.
